I don’t see this changing – the same as now. Focus will be around content, search and people.

Tasks – performing common tasks via the intranet (with connections to other underlying systems that are invisible to the user).
Concierge – the intranet will become a virtual assistant of sorts - learning about you and your habits and putting the relevant information in front of you at the appropriate moment.

This for me is what will elevate intranets from repositories of data into a truly effective mechanism for delivering value for organisations.
