Chris Tubb – Chris Tubb Consulting services

What we have currently but greater focus on:

Universal inboxing
User definable workflow
Data-driven business intelligence dashboards

Jason McCullagh – BA Insight

I don’t see this changing – the same as now. Focus will be around content, search and people.
Naturally everyone needs a weather app  
Design will become even more important – people like sexy and attractive things!

Jasper Oostervald Sparked

Random order:
User targeted content
Full mobile & responsive experience
Chat & video conversations

Lee Bryant – Postshift

Social networking, team collaboration and intelligent agents / chatbots, but none of these will be owned by existing intranet platforms.

Ravi Mynamparty – Harvard Business School

Mobile optimized
One-step for all employee needs

Paolo Tosolini – Tosolini Productions

Live streaming, download video for offline viewing, support for VR media, integration with voice commands

Clare Clark – BBC

Collaboration, personalization and predictive content as well as much stronger integration across platforms.

I think some of the more technologically advanced companies will also be experimenting with artificial intelligence as we see technology like IBM’s Watson becoming available.

Henrik Sunnefeldt - SKF

Connect people, more social, more collaboration, more operational

John Scott – Content Formula

Tasks – performing common tasks via the intranet (with connections to other underlying systems that are invisible to the user).
Concierge – the intranet will become a virtual assistant of sorts - learning about you and your habits and putting the relevant information in front of you at the appropriate moment.

Tony Stewart – Scarlettabbott

Not a ‘feature’ but a goal – good user experience! Intranets are traditionally inaccessible or simply not as nice to use as consumer platforms – this has to change! Knowledge sharing and sourcing also key – helping employees tap into
the existing resources within the enterprise.

Jenny varley & Dee Gosney – HSBC

Instant access to key news and information on the go; social collaboration and chat tool features that facilitates the creation, publication and sharing of content, insights and new ideas; and intelligent search functionality.

Sam Marshall – ClearBox Consulting

Easy integration and platform-agnostic. Search driven content will be far more dominant.

Tereza Urbankova – Amec Foster Wheeler

High personalization of relevant content.

Dörte Wittenberg -  Wittenberg Consulting

Functions to thrive interaction, initiatives,  ideas and innovation.

Sabine Kluge – Siemens AG

Like Twitter, FB and LinkedIn in private live today it will be mainly used
like my very personalized daily “newspaper”
for social learning (another daydream…;-D)

Steve Bynghall -Two Hives

It will still function in much the same way – internal comms, publishing, collaboration & social, tasks & apps, knowledge management, search etc. but perhaps the gateway to a unified experience of workplace technology will also be and additional component.

Emanuele Quintarelli – EY

Personalized access to legacy systems and applications
Easy, mobile-first access to individuals
The possibility to find, join and collaborate with the communities you need to get the job done

Thomas Borch – Novozymes A/S

Search Knowledge and tools
Find the expert
Collaborate (replacing some e-mails)

Thomas Maeder – Swisscom AG

Connecting People and connecting Content, find and discover knowledge, all sorts of KPIs and intelligent dashboards.

Richard Howat – Balfour Beatty

The most important resource in any company is people – so features that find and highlight expertise, enable useful connections and deliver collaborative working no matter the tech to meet objectives.

The next are process and pathways that people can work to consistently and in an open measurable way.

Plus this week’s canteen menu…

Agnieszka Haladus – Trans.eu

Collaborative, dynamic, social, engaging

Jonathan Seal – Mando

For me the singular and most fundamental ‘feature’ we’ll see is a holistic workplace digital concierge: Delivering genuine conversational user interfaces on to core digital workplace features driven by AI to seamlessly empower employees. This for me is what will elevate intranets from repositories of data into a truly effective mechanism for delivering value for organisations.

Leon Benjamin - Sei Mani

For forward thinking companies they will be highly personalized and distributed to the points of use.  It should be possible to break pieces off and embed them in apps where people spend most of their time

Ernst Decsey - UNICEF

Search that works. Guided help (bot). Things coming your way (whether content that relates to you, tasks you need to do).
